Lemon @ Tribeca Festival

(they/she) is a Puerto Rican descent multifaceted artist. American Sign Language (ASL) is their household language; their immediate family - parents and sister - is Deaf as well.

Growing up in Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Lemon found their passion on stage and was involved in the dance program when they were eight years old. During their junior year in high school, they performed “Don’t UnPlug Me” in ASL as a robot. This led them to become recognized as a talented performer throughout many schools and ASL classes in the public schools. In 2012, they were cast as Sarah Norman in “Children of a Lesser God” at Limelight Theatre, a local community theatre in St. Augustine, FL. In 2015, they graduated at Florida School of the Arts, where they was intensely shaped into a professional actress. They received “Against the Odds” LeRoy Alumni Award (voted by State of Florida collegiate) for being the only deaf student/actress in their college who pursued their dreams successfully.

Based in Los Angeles, Lemon continues to work on stage and on screen. In 2020, they played as Azrael in Deaf West’s spring production of Orphée. They received Award of Excellence for Best Supporting Actress at the Vegas Movie Awards for the role of Luna in a short film called “Tacet”. They can be seen in a McDonald’s commercial and a children show “MyGo! Sign Language for Kids” available on YouTube. Their most recent theatrical work was with DAT (Deaf Austin Theater) where they portrayed as Cathy in The Last Five Years, Gabrielle in Cinderella, and Ensemble (Romaine Patterson, Russell Henderson, Rob Debree etc.) in The Laramie Project. In 2023, they received Best Actress Award at the Indie X Film Fest for the role of Olivia in a short film called "Hardly What You Want To Hear" and “More Than Merely Players” Award for Outstanding Dramatic Performer Of The Year at the Young-Howze Theatre Awards for the role of Cathy in The Last Five Years.

Behind Lemon’s established thespian’s mask, they are also a digital painter, writer, and dancer - a bona fide artist. Through their diligence, determination and colorful imagination, their creativity comes natural to them. Regardless of their success, Lemon remains a mystery to many — a talented enigma indeed with an unforgettable zesty style.
